Getting Started with Work Incentives Benefits Counseling
How do work incentives benefits counseling services work?
Referral
You may get referred for work incentive benefits counseling services from DVR, your Care or Case Manager, or through the IRIS program. You will start to work with an ERI Work Incentives Benefits Specialist (WIBS)!
Review Employment Goals and Information
Your ERI WIBS will complete an intake to learn about your benefits and talk about with you about your work experience, employment goals, and questions.
Sign Release Forms
We will ask you to sign releases of information (ROI) forms so your WIBS can verify your benefits, ensure accurate calculations, ask questions, or assist with a benefit problem if needed.
Review of Individualized Benefits Reports
Your WIBS will review your individualized report with you and your support team.
Follow-up and Support
If any of the changes mentioned below happen to you, you may want to contact your WIBS to find out if these changes will impact your benefits and healthcare situation.
You should consider contacting a Benefits Specialist when…
- Considering working for the first time
- Considering increasing your earnings
- Considering re-entering the workforce
- Developing a career plan
- Actively job seeking
- Seeking help with overpayments
